The garden is immaculate, the house is squeaky clean,my hair is cut to a reasonable length,so it's off to the club house(aka the garage) for some tidying and solo games(small but beautiful!)
I have set myself some challenges with my solo games, which,I have found, gives more excitement than just setting two armies up facing each other and relying on the dice to determine who wins.
The first of the games I will be reporting on is a Cheyenne raiding party vs a Sioux village(their horses are the objective!) The older warriors are away hunting, leaving the "young bucks" in charge of the village and horses-the older warriors will return on the throw of a dice.
A scene of peace and calm-this won't last long, look at the Cheyenne raiding party coming onto the board!
The "young bucks" are no match for the Raiding party,so are driving the horses back to the safety(?) of the village-where are the older warriors??
Better late than never(I suppose!)-they came on at three separate points on two separate move numbers,to give a bit of imbalance and surprise.
Unfortunately they all ran into more trouble than they could handle, and, working on the principle of "He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day"-off all three groups went, leaving the "young bucks" at the mercy of the raiders.......................
Top photo shows just how fast the "young bucks" can run, bottom photo shows the victors with their prizes!
This was a particularly exciting and challenging game, and of course enjoyable.
My next report will be of a game involving Dacians against Auxiliary Roman troops, defending a fort.
The game looks great. What make are the figures by the way?
ReplyDeleteHI Allan, all the figures are from Warrior Miniatures-great value, teepees(?)are made by myself, from paper and cocktail sticks!
