Carronade 2021

After many months of anticipation and false dawns, the Falkirk and District Wargames Club managed to stage the Carronade event last Saturday (25th September).

All credit to Kenny and the rest of the club members for a magnificent effort and every praise is fully justified.

In excess of 550 paying visitors arrived to be greeted and directed to the slightly modified Graham High School venue in Falkirk.

Currently Scotland has restrictions in place for public venues etc. hence many of the team were outside spending hours on duty collecting track and trace information in order to open the doors. Face coverings were the order of the day; perhaps an unforeseen godsend ? I digress, what of the show?

The modified arrangements meant no flea market being available and the interconnecting small hall usually including a few small game tables, was reserved for traders only leaving a wider walking space.

Due to a series of unfortunate events (that would make a great book title !) we were a depleted team this time around with a medical procedure, holidays and having to travel to the Caribbean for work as the excuses supplied!

All notes from parents were handed in and they were excused duties!

This left three of us to uphold the tradition. As usual practice, we arrived at the show on Friday evening with a handful of traders setting up too.

Completed and ready for refreshments....

Part two to follow:
Oh, and our game is?
