Falkirk Preview.

We are putting on a demonstration game at Carronade(May 13th) and decided that the Boudican Revolt of 61AD would prove both colourful and exciting! On Saturday Paul and I ventured down to Dave's house to try the terrain and dispositions,ready for the game.................

This is what the table will look like as the "punters" arrive-Romans on the right,Britons on the left-the woods will be "bulked out" on the day-the space facing you will have a "Henge" on it-not historically correct,but we've got it so why not use it???

The Britons-thousands of 'em-we hope it will look spectacular-no two shield patterns are the same!!

The Romans-slightly out-numbered!-most of the figures we are using are cast-at home Prince August,both Romans and Britons-we will have a display at the end of the table,consisting of a replica Gladius and books galore-looking forward to it!

 

15mm update.

I have finally finished all the 15mm figures(7YW) that I got from Lancashire Games,and have had quite a few games with them whilst developing and improving(?) my "Red Pom-Pom" solo rules.

I have enjoyed painting these little master-pieces,but have not done them justice, due mainly to employing what I call MPT-minimal painting technique!!-ie no straps,water bottles,scabbards etc.etc.-just block colours and then flags-but using the "three foot rule" they look passable

Latest battle-French occupying a small farm and surrounding area-British about to attack!

British advancing,to attack the farm,woods and French centre-no casualties so far(!!)

As the infantry in the centre "slug" it out,the cavalry on both flanks get engaged!

British casualties are mounting(minus one from the dice for every Red Pom-Pom)-they can't survive this "thrashing"

It was Victory for the French-the only success on the British side was an out-flanking move by a Prussian brigade-but to no avail!!

Another exciting solo game,good fun whilst developing my rules-I'll get there eventually!!
