Mongol Army,Painting Update.

I am getting on quite well with painting my Mongols, and have just ordered another 50 bow-armed cavalry, which should be with me early next week(or sooner!) so I thought I might share my efforts so far............................

A box full always looks good-progress being made,7 units so far.

Some action shots now-lance armed cavalry fronted by bow armed cavalry.

Even more!! I think that they'll look good "en masse".

They will be a formidable army to fight against, having done a fair bit of research on their tactics and weapon capabilities,I am more than impressed by their organisation and planning!

On the painting table-Korean spear and bow armed infantry,or,as the Mongols called them in times of hardship,FOOD!!!-yes,food!!
These shouldn't take me too long to paint, and then onto the next batch of cavalry.

  1. Looking great so far. I had no idea Mongols used to snack upon their allies....you live and learn. I've been looking at some very nice Footsore Miniatures, and your comment on ordering another 50 cavalry made me think....from Footsore that would be well over £150. I bet warrior aren't charging that much!

  2. Looking good mate. This is a good deal later than most of your other armies. Are you going to build full 13th century armies to field against them? If you do Chinese, you could have all sorts of 'special' weapons
    Cheers

    1. Hi Chris,my appeals for Brian to paint either Russians or Poles or Teutonics, fell on deaf ears,so I will have to see if the pension will stretch that far!!
Yes the Chinese would be another option-oh the expense!!!!

  3. What about Fireforge plastics? Work out less than £1 a figure. Lower, lower?

    1. Chris,It is forbidden to mention plastics to either Brian or I-we have had very bad experiences involving lots of Super Glue, and lots of very bad language-go and wash your mouth out!!!
