Total "Cock-up" and Warm Welcome.

Strange title-cock-up is because I accidently deleted all the photographs I took of last Sunday's game-the only one's that are left are the scenario and terrain layout, and table before any troops on it.....................

The game itself was absolutely great, the result(and we still don't know who won!!) went right down to the wire-oh well,a lesson learned and all that!-my IT skills need up-dating,I'll have to ask my 3 year old granddaughter how to do things right next time!!!

A warm welcome-well,Paul and I went down to see the Border Reiver guys in their new venue at the Miner's Institute Hall in Westerhope(a ten minute walk from my house) and given a grand tour of their new premises and were also offered a very warm and friendly welcome-thanks lads!

Top photo shows the lads about to start their WW2 Tank battle game, using rules by the Two Fat Lardies, bottom shows a magnificently painted Tiger tank.Unfortunately, although we recognised most of the faces from shows etc. we didn't get their names, but I'm sure we will get to know them better in the future-maybe even a joint venture??

  1. So warm a welcome in fact that one of the lads is wearing Westerhope Wargames Group colours of salmon pink. Nice to have a neighbouring club so close. And I approve of Toofatlardies rules. Not tried What a Tanker but love Sharp Practice and Chain of Command. I assume they were using What a Tanker and surprised the rules’ name didn’t stick in your head, John ;-)
    All the best

You guys are so lucky to have premises....as long as you ahem ...Keep them orderly.
Down where I am balls and other suitable rooms, back of pubs and so on, are like hens teeth.
Usually they have found tables, not much good to play soldiers on.!!!!

The local village hall is good, but very well booked.A ball in the new housing development requires a 2 mile? Drive through the estate to get to it, although it's a 5 minute walk away.Something to do with making it difficult for criminals......obviously not well thought through as criminals will now drive through a new development at reckless speed, and there are very few paths as they squeezed in so many houses.Am with you on this tech. Front....it is very much a black art. As long as you had a good game.

  4. A great looking game John!!!
You were clearly having too good a time of it, which is the point, of course. We bloggers can be like the press, hang on, stop enjoying yourselves while I get a photo. Although you got the photos, didn't you...?
    Regards, James

    2. Hi John, it was good to see you both at the club and to have a good chat about plying with toy soldiers. Apologies for not getting Tony to do the introductions as he knows both groups. Our next Saturday game day is on the 19th. Let me know if you plan to turn up or even put on a game. I can be contacted at mwilson291@btinternet.com
