One minute you're sitting at home painting figures and looking forward to Sunday's game, and the next minute you're in Hospital suffering from Diverticulitis, being drip-fed antibiotics, and not being allowed to eat or drink for three days(not to mention the "hellish" three nights!)
The next thing that happens is that my wife and I had to return to the hospital today so that she could have an operation to fix her fractured little finger!!!-this is a long-winded way to explain why we didn't play on Sunday!!
I have been told to take it easy for a few days, and have a "light" diet(???) but, hopefully, we should be playing the Plains Indians war battle that I had planned for last Sunday.
"prep'd" and awaiting CT scan, then off to ward.
Highlight of the day-visiting time(note Guantanamo Bay style PJ's!)
Just a small bandage!!!! for a little finger.
We'll look back on this and laugh-NOT!!
roll on next Sunday.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune lately John! I was diagnosed with divert a few years ago. Medical advice given - plenty of roughage!! So stock up your all bran! I've also found that a heavy wargame defeat has the same effect! Hope you and your good lady are on the mend mate.
ReplyDeleteHi Dennis, thanks for your concern-we are both a bit pathetic at the moment, but will try and get out to shops tomorrow, cheers,

Hi Mike, thank you for concern-I have tried a bit of "solid" food today-and so far,so good!!

It could be that your wargame bases are too big.
ReplyDeleteYou aren't moving about as much with the 8 and 6 figure bases as you would with individually based figures.
Better send those armies my way, just to be safe.....
Get well soon!
Keep those posts coming!
Thanks Doug,I am feeling a bit better today, and have actually done some painting!
DeleteBut those armies are quite safe in Westerhope at the moment!!

Sorry to see you like that John. I have suffered with the same ailment for some 20+ years now and have it under control most of the time. Can I suggest 'unprocessed bran' on every meal you eat and lots and lots of water to ease the pain. If its ant consolation you will lose weight rather quickly.
ReplyDeleteRobbie,I've just taken the last of the prescribed anti-biotics,and am feeling a bit better-yes lots of fibre and liquids seem to be the rule from now on!!-thanks for your concern
