Solo 15mm ACW game.

Last night, full of Flu and bored with watching the TV,I decided to have an ACW game using my "Epic" 15mm figures . It would be a simple defence/attack game with 3 divisions and 6 gun batteries of "Rebs" against 2 divisions and 4 gun batteries of Federal troops who were in a good defensive positions in and around a small town..................

Two shots of the table, top shows the "rebs" on the left, bottom is from the "rebs" positions.

Top photo shows the Confederate advance, bottom photo shows them shaking into line, ready for the attack-the guns on both sides had done considerable damage,as will be seen in the next few photographs(one pom-pom is a few casualties, two pom-poms is considerable casualties, followed by three pom-poms,which is unit taken off table!!)

Volley fire against the town, followed by an attack against the walls-look at the "casualties"!!

General view of the table, about half way through the game-both flanks have yet to make contact, but "Rebel" casualties are mounting!

Top photo shows the first wave attack has been repelled, second wave has attacked in the bottom photo, and one unit has gained a success, and is actually inside the town!!-In the distance you can see the "reb" left flank is closing on the Federal troops, but are taking horrendous casualties in doing so!!

Out-gunned,and out-flanked,the "Rebel" left is being shot to pieces, and was forced to retire(it's good being retired!),but what of the "Rebel" right flank?

As you can see,the "Reb" right was ponderously walking into volley and artillery fire, and was in danger of being out-flanked from the town,so it too was forced to retire-the town is still in Union hands,so I deemed the game was won by the Union!

Just a shot to show the location of my "Solo" table-the doll's house is not part of any future games!!-this was a particularly good game, and could have gone either way(bloody dice!) and filled in about thee hours of my time-more games to come until this cold snap and my flu gets better.

  3. Get well soon! The game looks great. There’s one Confederate army that needs to go away and lick its wounds. Cheers, Chris
