All things South African!

Last night Paul,Graham and I had a Zulu/Boer/British game-Dave is on holiday in Japan,so couldn'y make it,and our great pal Brian is recovering from a stroke , so he couldn't make it either( we wish Brian all the best for a speedy recovery-we miss you at the club!)

A simple scenario was that a Boers town has been evacuated due to increases Zulu activity, and the British have promise a "force" to escort them through Zulu territory-the British are late,so the Boers decide to go it alone-Inevertibly they are attacked, but manage to erect a "Laager" of sorts.

Top photo shows the Boer laager, bottom shows the Zulu centre regiments about to attack.

Top two(?) photo's show the Zulu left horn massing for an attack, bottom photo shows the British arriving in style-hurrah shouted the Boers, they are coming to help us!!

The attack on the "Laager" begins-the Boers are verey good shots and the Zulus are taking horrendous casualties-good job they have a second line!

The left horn attacks, and the British open fire with artillery and a gatling, again inflicting lots of casualties, but not slowing the steady advance of the Zulus!

Contact on the Laager-having taken too many casualties on the way in,the Zulu front line stood no chance against the Boers(and Graham's fortunate dice throws!)

On 'tother side of the board, the attack has failed miserably(note "dead" figures!)-Paul,as usual with his deadly dice was knocking off Indunas like a scythe through grass!!!!

Not a Zulu in sight(well, not a live one!)-the Laager is saved without the help from the British!
