Two of the 4 "spare" figures were converted into artillerymen, the other two ended up as casualties(c/w WW2 Japanese "muskets"-nothing gets wasted in my world!)
Next good news is that we are playing an Ancients game on Sunday..................
A couple of shots of the Warrior cavalry-I've just attached the arms, which was very "fiddly" and caused a bit of bad language, but a combination of No Nails and Superglue eventually worked out well!
Virtually no cleaning up needed-but look at those arms!!
Top photo shows Troopers awaiting right arms, middle shows the "General" figures fully-armed! and bottom shows the whole ensemble ready to be under-coated-hurrah!!
Now for some bad news-firstly Paul won't be playing on Sunday,he has had to have a second dose of anti-biotics for his chest infection-get well soon matey, and secondly I have been diagnosed with "epiretinal membrane" on my right eye(been bothering me for a while I think-well that's my excuse for bad painting anyway!!) awaiting appointment at RVI asap. but am ok apart from a bit blurry vision.Roll on Sunday.
Warrior coming up trumps again. Hope all is well with your eyesight.
ReplyDeleteCheers Mike-fingers crossed!

You do keep busy! The scenario looks great. Feels sort of topical. Paul seems on the mend. Hope you don’t need an op and can visually ‘limp’ along as it is. Take care
ReplyDeleteYo Chris,I don't know when the RVI will send for me-thay have a huge backlog of cases,so not holding breath!

Sorry to read about the old mince pies, am sure they will sort it out for you.
ReplyDeleteIt's a hackneyed phrase but true- it really is marvellous what can be done.
Like the figures, I have painted mine up as Russia n seven years war, look more of less correct, good enough for me and that's what counts.
Hello James-good to hear you've painted your figures-I found the detail to be more than I can cope with!Have you other nations in your 7YW project?

Sorry for late reply, on holiday.
ReplyDeleteHave over thousand prussians, mainly Old Glory and Front Rank.
Couple of hundred brits and hanoverians, masses of WSS.
Started marlburian with Foundry Citadel, then liked the Irregular and the STRATAGEM range put out by the late Duncan Mcfarlane.
Got a very good quantity discount on Irregular, just have over fifteen hundred could of thousand.
Bloody Hell James-what a collection!Do you play on a regular basis, and do you get the chance to have them all on the board in a vast sprawling battle/game??
